On 28th October 1998, President Bill Clinton signed the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) into law. The law incorporates two conventions of the 1996 World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO): the WIPO Treaty on Copyright and the WIPO Treaty on Output and Phonograms. A variety of other relevant copyright-related questions are still discussed by the DMCA.
